Quinae Monique; writer, and wanderer on a journey...

Growing up in the heart of South Central ; Los Angeles where gang violence and drugs were the normalcy. Quinae used writing as an escape from her harsh reality. But the further she went Santa Monica, Hollywood, Malibu, Inland Empire  the more she realized home is where the heart is. Raised by her grandmother due to her mother being murdered when she was three, the wanderer knew that the only way to know where she was going, is to know where she has been. Being forced to tackle life head on, after countless heartbreaks and even more headaches, she checked back in school in 2016 obtaining her Associate Degree at Cerritos College in Journalism amongst the class of 2019. This only pushed her to want more. She has since then become an author and published her first book in the poetry genre called Welcome II My Naeborhood sharing her vulnerabilities, desires, and emotions through her journals. Currently Quinae is attending Cal State Los Angeles pursuing her Bachelors of Arts in Broadcast Journalism. She wishes by sharing her life as an open book she hopes it will inspire others to go back to where it began, to find the road to where you’re destined to be.
